Monday, June 29, was orientation day, which started at 10: am. I was surprised by the huge number of student from all over US. The orientation lasted three hours. It was very informative and helpful. We learned the expression used by the Costa Rican people to express when something is great, "Pura Vida,"the name of the news paper, "La Nacion,"places to visit, andthe great deals in town, especially the Wednesday night movies-2 for 1. "Ticos" is the nickname for Costa Rican. Why? Because they use the diminutive Ico for everything e.g. poquitico, chiquitico,blanquitico etc.
Pura vida hasta ahora!
